ECC808 je považovaná za „lepšiu“ verziu populárnej ECC83/12AX7.
Nízkošumovosť, odolnosť voči mikrofónovaniu a ozvučenia ju predurčuje na použitie v systémoch s vysokou citlivosťou (napr. gramofónové zosilňovače).
Kultová kvalita značky Telefunken zaručuje kvalitu zvuku na najvyššej úrovni.Lampu ECC808 nie je možné použiť priamo namiesto ECC83/12AX7.Súčasťou balenia je vhodný adaptér umožňujúci použitie lampy ECC808 namiesto ECC83, ECC803, 12AX7.Originálne lampy značky Telefunken s charakteristickým znakom na sklenenom podstavci lampy.Pozor! Konvertor je možné použiť iba v systéme (zosilňovači) s žiarovkou ECC83/12AX7 s napätím 6.3 V na kolíkoch (4+5)-9.
V systémoch, kde je ECC83/12AX7 ožiarená napätím 12.6 V (na kolíkoch 4-5), nie je možné použiť prevodník.
To ohrozuje poškodenie lampy a/alebo zosilňovača.Lampa je k dispozícii aj v nasledujúcich konfiguráciách: pár a štvorec.Podstavec Noval.
