How we use AI
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Some of what you read on BuyMeGift is written by AI, and some of it is not. Rather than a blanket "this site may contain AI content", here is exactly which parts are which — because the useful version of this disclosure is the specific one.
Where AI is used, and where it is not
Buying guides and blog posts
AI-generatedWritten by a language model, then published. Each post is labelled on the page itself, not only here.
The shopping assistant
AI-generatedWhen you ask it for a gift or a budget, the reply is generated. If the model is unavailable the assistant answers straight from the catalogue instead, and says so rather than inventing something.
Social media captions
AI-assistedCaptions for our Instagram and Facebook posts are varied by AI from our own product data. The products, prices and links in them are real.
Partner pages
AI-assistedThe written copy on a partner story page is drafted by AI from that merchant’s own catalogue data and reviewed before it is published.
Prices, discounts and stock
Not AINever AI. Every price and discount comes from the merchant’s own product feed. Where we cannot confirm a price is current, the page says so instead of showing a number we do not trust.
Product photos
Not AINever AI-generated. Product images come from the merchant. We do not create or alter product imagery.
The model is not left to guess
Where AI writes about products, it is given a fixed list of facts calculated from our database — prices, discounts, how many stores carry an item — and told it may repeat them and must not extrapolate. That is deliberate: a model asked to write about a sale with no data will invent a plausible one, and an invented discount is a lie about someone’s money.
Human oversight
AI-written pages can be edited, corrected or removed by our team at any time, and someone here is responsible for what is published. AI is a drafting tool on this site; it is not the editor.
If something looks wrong
AI-written text can still be wrong. If you find something inaccurate or misleading, tell us and we will correct or remove it — Contact.
