Delete your BuyMeGift account

You can permanently delete your BuyMeGift account and the personal data linked to it at any time, without asking us first and without giving a reason. This page explains exactly what happens, and lets you do it yourself.

What is deleted

All of the following is erased from our live systems the moment you confirm:

Your sign-in account itself — every session ends at once and the login stops working.
Your wishlist and every saved or shared cart, including any you published on a creator page.
Your price alerts, watched products and push-notification subscriptions.
Your newsletter subscription and any gift-quiz answers.
Messages you sent us through the contact form, and any lead records tied to your email address.
Your display name, username and public profile.

This is a hard delete, not a deactivation: we keep no copy for ourselves, and there is no way for us to bring the account back afterwards.

What we keep, and why

A one-way hash of your email address together with the date of the erasure. It proves the deletion happened without keeping anything that identifies you — the hash cannot be turned back into your address.
Aggregated, anonymous counts (for example “this product was opened 400 times”) that were never linked to your account and cannot be traced back to a person.
Encrypted database backups, on a short rolling cycle of at most 30 days, after which they are overwritten. We never restore an individual record from a backup, so your data disappears from them as they expire.

How long it takes

Immediately. The deletion runs while you wait — there is no queue, no cooling-off period and no confirmation email to click. Backups expire within 30 days, as described above.

How to delete your account

In the BuyMeGift app

Open the app, go to the Profile tab and choose “Delete account”. Confirm, and the account is erased immediately.

Here, in your browser

Sign in below with the email address of the account you want to delete, confirm, and it is erased immediately. No email to send, no support ticket, no waiting.

Already uninstalled the app?

You do not need to reinstall it. This page works on its own — sign in with the same email address you used in the app and delete the account from here.

Sign in to delete your account

We can only delete an account for someone who can sign into it. Sign in with that account’s email address, then come back to this page — it will be waiting for you.

Checking your session…

Need help, or lost access to your email?

If you can no longer sign in to the address on the account, write to us and we will verify you another way and delete it for you. That is the backup route — signing in above and deleting the account yourself is always faster. [email protected]
