Nazwa lampy oświetlającej ścianę nie jest jedynym niewątpliwym nawiązaniem do Dalekiego Wschodu.
Projektant Jordi Aguilo Lopez inspirował się również japońskim origami, na którym wzorowana jest cienka, lekko zagięta forma Ashiya - ściemniana zewnętrznie poprzez odcięcie fazy
